Emily Botelho (She/Her) As an embroidery artist based in London, Ontario and originally from Manchester, UK, my work is inspired by natural and man-made textures found all over the world. My pieces are heavily influenced by the sea and the coastal areas of North Wales, where I spent a lot of my time and find much of my inspiration. Embroidery came into my life during a challenging time for my mental health, and I quickly discovered the therapeutic benefits of slow stitching. I use my platform to promote embroidery as a form of meditation and self-care, encouraging others to explore it for themselves. Through my work, I strive to capture the beauty of the world around us and translate it into tangible miniature landscapes. Whether it’s the intricate patterns of a seashell or the subtle variations in the color of a rocky coastline, I find endless inspiration in the natural world. My hope is that my art not only brings joy to others but also encourages them to find beauty in even the smallest details of the world around them.
